The House of Chinchilla Story
We're a specialist small-pet store, born in Singapore, that got a little too into housing.
House of Chinchilla started the way most good specialist shops do: with people who cared more about one corner of a big subject than anyone strictly needed to. For us, that corner was the small, soft, often-misunderstood animals — chinchillas first, then hamsters, guinea pigs, and rabbits — and, more than anything, the way they're housed.
It's a fitting obsession for a place with “House” in the name. Walk into most pet aisles and the cages on offer are built for the shelf, not the animal: too short for a chinchilla to climb, too shallow for a hamster to burrow, too cramped for a pair of guinea pigs to be the herd they are. We think that's backwards. The enclosure isn't an accessory — it's the whole foundation of a healthy little life.
So that's what this site is: honest, specific housing and care guidance, written the way we'd explain it to a friend who just brought a small animal home and wants to do right by it. A bit of warmth, no lectures, and real numbers you can act on.
